Design: Clinical study. Animals: 36 dogs and 20 cats. Procedures: Ultrasonography was performed using two real-time ultrasound machines. The entire abdomen was examined ultrasonographically while the animal was in dorsal recumbency. Percutaneous ultrasound-guided aspiration and microcore automated biopsy were performed. Results: Twelve dogs suffered from Ileus due to parasitic infestations and obstructed foreign bodies, full stomach wall thickening in 3 dogs, 7 cases with intestinal tumors, 3 cases were ultrasonographically examined for assessing gastropexy site. 2 cases with suspected stomach foreign bodies, 2 cases with necrosed intestine, 2 cases suffered focal stomach lesion of which 1 case suffered gastritis and the other demonstrated ulcer with mild thickening of the stomach wall. 1 case suffered intestinal intussusceptions, 2 cases with perforated intestine. 1 case suffered volvulus nodosus and 1 case was ultrasonographically normal and suffered melena. Exploratory laparotomy showed blackish colouration of the caecum. In cats, 10 out of 20 cases were with intestinal lymphoma, 2 cases were diagnosed with ileus. 1 case demonstrated stomach wall thickness, 1 case suffered intestinal abscess, 1 case suffered intussusceptions, 2 cases suffered intestinal perforation, 1 case suffered megacolon following operation for anastomosis. The last 2 cases suffered intestinal foreign body and parasitic infestation. Conclusions and Clinical Relevance: The incidence of ileus or obstruction of the intestine with different foreign bodies constituted 33% from all cases. Then ovariectomy was performed through two dorso-lateral abdominal incisions.  Score of pain at 2, 4 and 24 hours after the surgery using VAS, serum levels of cortisol and CPK at 2 hours after the surgery were evaluated in all rats. Results: The score of pain was significantly different in group A, compared to group B and C (P=0). Also the concentration of cortisol was significantly increased in all groups following the surgery. This increase was significant in group A compared to group B and C (P<0.05). The present study investigated the role of vitamin C as an antioxidant in protecting the testis against damage in experimental unilateral cryptorchidism.Design- Experimental studyAnimals- Forty five male adult Wistar–Albino ratsProcedures- Animals were divided into three groups. The control group had intact rats, the cryptorchid group had unilateral cryptorchid rats in left testis and the treatment group had unilateral cryptorchid rats in left testis that it received vitamin C at a dose of 50 mg/kg body weight intraperitoneal, every other day, during experimental period. Epididymis samples were obtained from both testes of five cases of 15 animals of each group at 15, 30 and 60 days after induction of cryptorchidism and testicular weight/body weight ratio and epididymal sperm characteristics (sperm concentration, sperm motility and sperm viability) were evaluated.Results- Testicular weight/body weight ratio and sperm quality of the cryptorchid (left) testes in cryptorchid group significantly decreased compared to the control group (p<0.05), and treatment with vitamin C not significantly improved these parameters of these testes compared to the cryptorchid group (p>0.05). In addition, the left testes on unilateral cryptorchid rats had noticeable adverse effects on the sperm quality parameters of scrotal (right) testes (p<0.05), and treatment with vitamin C after 60 days, significantly improved all sperm quality parameters of these testes compared to the cryptorchid group (p<0.05).Conclusion and clinical relevance- It can be concluded that although treatment with vitamin C has few positive effect on sperm quality of cryptorchid testes, but it can significantly improve these parameters in scrotal testes on unilateral cryptorchid rats. A 4-year-old, intact, male German shepherd dog was presented with multiple skin lesions, located on the inguinal region near the root of penis, which have been progressively growing since two months ago. In close examination of the lesions multiple, firm, painful, and cup-shaped nodules in different sizes with a central pore filled with keratin were observed.Treatment and Outcome- Surgical excision and histological evaluation was done.  Histologically this tumor was characterized by endophytic projections of the epidermis extending into dermis.Cytopathic effects included ballooning degeneration of keratinocytes, koilocytosis, irregularity of keratohyalin granules, and margination of nuclear chromatin. Numerous eosinophilic intranuclear inclusions were present within keratinocytes of endophytic lesion. Immunohistochemically, the tumor cells were intensely positive for pancytokeratin. On the basis of histopathological and clinical findings, the tumor was diagnosed as multiple cutaneous inverted papilloma. There was no recurrence or any other complications in post operative monitoring.Clinical Relevance- Inverted papillomas are relatively uncommon in dogs; whereas, the incidence of this tumor in the inguinal region is uncommon.
